Happy 2014! As we’re busy looking ahead to this year’s wedding trends, it’s also a good moment to look back and celebrate the best of 2013. So what a wonderful way to kick off the New Year with an absolute corker of a “Real Fabulous Wedding” from late August: Annika & Charlie‘s Shropshire wedding, featuring The Milestones of Motown, Disco, Funk & Soul.
The couple tied the knot in gorgeous rustic style: golden autumnal hues, dramatic wheat sheaf centre pieces (created by the bride’s mother) and fabulous, 5-tiered “cheese” wedding cake! Here Annika & Charlie tell us why they chose The Milestones to perform at their wedding, and why their guests said it was the best wedding they’d ever been to…
Did the band live up to your expectations?
The Milestones really made the evening a success! We saw them a year ago at Dover Street and thought they were brilliant, and on Saturday they were even more fantastic! We hope to book them again one day in the future when we have a good excuse for a party, Charlie and I are also going to make it an annual wedding anniversary celebration by going to see them every year with our close family.
What did your guests think of the band?
We have heard so many comments throughout the evening, and days after of how fantastic they were, and how most wedding bands can be a let-down so it was really refreshing to everyone. So many of our guests have also told us it was the best wedding they have ever been to, which is a lovely compliment for me and Charlie, but we definitely owe some of that credit to The Milestones as well!
What were you looking for in a live band?
We really wanted a band that was different from the norm, that would get everyone on the dance floor from start to finish and they truly delivered, with great vocals and the music that appealed to all age groups. They really gave a great performance, and interacted with our guests. They are extremely talented and we wish them all the best, please pass on our thanks again for such a wonderful evening.
How did you find dealing with MyFab?
We found you to be a pleasure to work with. Very reliable and organised which really put our minds at ease for the big day and the entertainment you provided really were a cut above the rest! The CD you sent was a really nice touch as well! Thank you for providing a great service.
